How to Setup Instant Articles

Step 1: Sign up

The first step you need to sign up to join the program. You can do this at instantarticles.fb.com.

You must have an existing Facebook fan page and also have an admin or editor role on that page before starting the instant articles.

Step 2: Choose your Facebook Page

After signup, you will get the new windows where you can select an existing Facebook page for which you would like to activate instant articles.

if you have not any page on Facebook or you have not an admin role on FB page then you can not able to select for instant articles. But you can able to create a new page.

Step 3: Claim your URL

Once you’ve selected your Facebook Page, you’ll be asked to provide a URL you intend to use for articles. This URL will serve as the basis for the URLs of all your posts (and, in most cases, will be your blog URL, for example, blog.example.com).

To claim your URL, first of all, you need to add a meta tag i.e. FB: page meta tag to your HTML’stag and then specify the URL to your settings. All the information you need to do this can be found in the Instant Articles Settings:claim-URL

If your website is made in WordPress so you can able to use FB instant articles plugins and install and activate that. After that, you can able to add Facebook Page id on that and save it.

Step 4: Create articles

Facebook wants at least 5 posts or articles for review. So facebook team will review your articles and provide feedback within 2 or 3 business days. If your website does not have any articles so you can create articles from starting and submit for review.

if your website already has more than 5 articles so you can able to publish for instant articles. But this may be possible by setting the Production RSS Feed set. You can write feeds/instant-articles after your blog URLs such as http://www.example.com/feeds/instant-articles/ so you will get listing all your website articles and submit this URL in RSS feed URL setting.

Step 5: Customize styling

Facebook also provides an option to customized the styling of your articles by choosing font color, background color for your post. You can also upload your logo on articles. You can also give different style color for like button and so on to make attractive and to match your website theme layout.

Step 6: Submit for review

After completing all the above steps, you can submit your feed that to be reviewed by Facebook and verify that all the articles created from your website are properly formatted. Facebook currently aims to review all submissions with 2 to 3 business days.
